What happened to Sony’s design team?

with 4 comments

Have they been murdered? Or perhaps erased from existence in some Back To The Future-style paradox? I ask because it seems Sony’s new PSP (not PSP2) is wearing almost exactly the same face as it’s predecessor.

It’s not like Sony haven’t released redesigned versions before. Both the PlayStation and the PS2 received a whole new look. Yet the PSP gets little more than it’s love handles sliced off*. “That’ll be $199 please.”

Any current (fully working) PSP owner who purchases the new model is an utter plank.

*The ability to output to TV and to charge via USB do not warrant a new system with near identical design. End of.

  3. I agree, there’s not much reason to get this new psp if you already have one. Only gaming enthusiasts and kids with rich daddies (or mommies) should chuck their old psp for this slightly new one.
